Jewelry Care

A Little Care Goes a Long Way

Every piece has a story. A little thoughtful care helps yours stay beautiful for the chapters ahead.

Our handmade collections feature gold-plated bronze, natural stones, sterling silver, and creative materials such as fish scales and recycled fishing nets. Here’s how to give your favorite pieces a little extra love.

Your everyday care checklist

Jewelry goes on last, comes off first. Apply perfume, lotion, sunscreen, makeup, and hairspray before putting on your pieces, and allow products to dry.

Keep your catch dry. Remove jewelry before swimming, showering, exercising, or cleaning. Avoid saltwater, chlorine, household chemicals, and prolonged moisture.

Wipe gently after wearing. Use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth to remove surface oils. Skip scrubbing, abrasive products, and jewelry dips.

Give each piece its own space. Store separately in a soft pouch or lined jewelry box, away from humidity, direct sunlight, and heat.

Handle with care. Remove before sleeping, and avoid pulling, bending, or placing heavy objects on delicate pieces.

A little extra care by material

Gold-plated bronze
Gentle care helps preserve the gold finish. Use a soft, untreated cloth; avoid metal polishes and abrasive polishing cloths. Gold plating naturally wears over time, and bronze may develop a patina or occasionally leave a temporary mark on skin, particularly with moisture or perspiration. Keeping your pieces clean and dry helps reduce these effects.

Natural stones & freshwater pearls
Protect them from knocks, chemicals, heat, and prolonged sunlight. Avoid soaking, steam, and ultrasonic cleaners. Cleaning needs vary by stone—contact us before using anything beyond a gentle wipe.

Brazilian fish-scale & recycled-net pieces
These handcrafted details deserve a light touch. Keep them dry, avoid sprays and cleaning solutions, and gently dust with a soft, dry cloth. Store without crushing or folding the scales or net designs. Even materials with fishing roots need a little protection in their new life as jewelry.

Sterling silver
Silver can naturally tarnish over time. For plain, unplated silver components, gently use a silver polishing cloth, keeping it away from adjoining fish scales, netting, stones, and pearls. Avoid dipping mixed-material pieces in silver cleaner.

Handmade, and uniquely yours

Small variations in color, texture, and shape are part of handmade and natural materials. Finish changes, plating wear, and tarnish can occur over time; their pace depends on wear, storage, and exposure.

For pieces combining several materials, follow the gentlest care instructions. Any care directions included with your piece take priority.
